Step 1: Cut out pattern on green felt (X 2). (Fig1)
Step 2: Sew together leaving the end where you stick your hand in open. (Fig2)
Step 3: Flip right side out.
Step 4: Cut a length of white felt to go around the wrist part of the mitten (about 2" thick and however long your mitten opening is) (Fig3)and sew this on with the ends that you are sewing together so that when you turn the white up, that will be the top of your mitten purse. (Fig4)
Step 5: Take your scissors and carefully poke holes in the sides by where you sewed the green felt together (by the end of the wrist area and just under the white area).
Step 6: Add large jump rings where you want your strap. (Fig5)
Step 7: Embellish as you like. (Fig6)
Step 8: Add a string, rope or ribbon of your choice to both lobster claps.
Step 9: Hook them to the large jump rings and you have yourself a strap for your new mitten purse!

This is a cute purse to carry around at xmas time. I love my mitten purse, but I will probably need to reinforce the place where I put the large jump rings to hold the strap. I think that eventually it will come undone or perhaps even break what with all of the stuff that I carry around in my purse! LOL!

Make A Plastic Canvas Hello Kitty Purse (DOD)
|
This is not a giveaway item, sorry.
|
Pattern (I found one online to use, but it's not mine to share, sorry.)
Scissors
Plastic canvas
Yarn: red, black, yellow, white (optional)
Material for inside bag (I used some faux tiger striped material)
Plastic canvas needle
Sewing needle
1 black crayon
|
Step 1: Cut sheets of plastic canvas to make the size of bag form that you would like.
Step 2: Get Hello Kitty head pattern (I found one online).
Step 3: Use your plastic canvas needle, put yarn though and sew to plastic canvas bag pattern.
Step 4: Copy Hello Kitty head pattern by using a black crayon and tracing it to plastic canvas (I made the back of Hello Kitty's head on the opposite site of the bag for fun).
Step 5: Sew sides together and add strap.
Step 6: Sew liner material to the inside areas and inside strap if you like. Enjoy!

Sorry, but I did not think to take many photos whilst creating this bag. I wish I had, but I made this way before I ever thought of making tutorials. I think that you can get the idea on how to make it via my instructions. If not, I'm only an email away! ;)

This is a really fun bag for a young miss to carry around and show off to all of her friends. I've had so many compliments on this one and offers to buy, but I made this one for my granddaughter. It was a one time thing for me to make it...sorry.
