How To Make Felt Deer Ears

This is not a giveaway item, sorry.

Materials

Pattern
Tacky glue
Scissors (Tools)
Crop-A-Dile (Tools)
Cereal box
Brown felt
Tan felt
Rope, string (I used leather), or hair clips

Instructions

Step 1: Find a deer ear pattern that you like online or get this one here.
Step 2: Cut out the pattern.
Step 3: 2 brown felt
Step 4: 2 tan felt
Step 5: Cut out pattern (X 2) on cardboard...
Step 6: or a cereal box
Step 7: Put tacky glue on one side of the cardboard pattern.
Step 8: Put brown felt pattern on now glued cardboard pattern.
Step 9: Glue it down.
Step 10: Do the same for the tan felt on the other side of the cardboard.
Step 11: Let both sides dry over night or for at least 3 hours.
Step 12: Grab your Crop-A-Dile and punch out the holes.
Step 13: Bend the ends that will be closest to your head (the ends of the ears) in so they meet for that creased, deer ear look.
Step 14: Add your string to one of the ears, checking placement on your head to be sure that's where you want them to be located.
Here's what I did. I used thick leather string (as you can tell by my photos), so I simply tied a knot in one side, then tied the bottom ear so that it would stay closed (this is where I added a different colored charm to know who's was who's), then tied another knot in the other side to hold it all together. Do the other ear the same way and *poof!* you have deer ears!

Notes

This is an idea that I found online and wanted to try. I made several pairs and gave them out at our family xmas party! Isn't Lilly cute in them? Awww, she's a cutie anyway. :) I wanted to make something fun to hand out at our family xmas party at our cousin's place this year. I made these deer ears for the kids and one for myself too! Doesn't my granddaughter Lilly look so cute in her deer ears? LOL! You can't see it in Lilly's photo, but I did add a little charm in the center tied area of each ear so that I could know who's was who's at the party if left behind. I guess you could embellish these ears with anything you want to, but I just left mine plain. I think that they are super cute.

How To Make Felt Finger Puppets

This is not a giveaway item, sorry.

Materials

Brown felt
Tan felt
Red felt
Small googly eyes
Brown thread
Sewing needle (Tools)
Scissors (Tools)
Tacky glue

Instructions

Step 1: Get finger puppet pattern here. Note: I didn't use the feet or arms part of that pattern.
Step 2: Cut out the body with the brown felt (X 2).
Step 3: Sew both front and back brown body together.
Step 4: Cut out the paw pads, tummy and inner ear with the tan felt.
Step 5: Use your Tacky Glue to glue these to their appropriate places.
Step 6: Cut out the nose with the red felt and glue to center of tan felt on face.
Step 7: Glue googly eyes to face above nose.
Step 8: This is optional, but I had some alphabet stickers and I glued the names on each bear to show who's who.

Notes

I made these for my grandchildren to play with and they just love them! This is a really fun project to make for your children or grandchildren. Check out the video we made at YouTube! I made the fairy too, but it's a little doll, not a finger puppet.
